Ichi is a 2008 chambara film directed by Fumihiko Sori, starring Takao Osawa, Haruka Ayase. Ichi is a blind woman who roams about town with her shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese guitar), but she has exceptional sword skills with which she fights off yakuza and other villains. They travel to a town run by the Shirakawa, a family who are plagued by the Banki-to, a group of mercenaries. She is befriended by a travelling Toma Fujihira, who tells her that he rescued her from bandits (in fact, it was Ichi who saved them both by killing the bandits). Fortunately for Ichi, she is also a gifted swordswoman and carries a lethal blade within her walking stick. She’s in search for the kind man that brought her up as a child, but because of her beauty she encounters problems every step of the way.
